I may have you wrong, but your saying that a redneck ass burning a religion's holy book isn't bad, but the religion he is terribly offending making a holy center near ground zero is?
Please correct me f I'm wrong, please.
You are very wrong, nowhere did I say old man Jones was right.

I thought you were saying that a Muslim holy center being near Ground Zero is worse than someone burning the Koran. That'd just be incredibly ignorant.

Yeah, but I didn't say that, so please, respond to what I was saying...
And here it is, reiterated, so you won't have to go back and read it on the other page.
It's not a holy center. It is a rabat.
And here is why.
The bottom line is that there are many different kinds of Muslims, and this place, judging by the quality of the radical guy behind it, is not for the American kind of Muslim, i.e. the BAD Muslim, the Muslim who goes to work, pays his taxes, and raises his family.
"80-0, 80-0, how can you say these things? I feel like banning you because I don't like what you're saying!"
Tut tut, read this.
Reverend Know-It-All should suffice.

2) So it's a rabat? And?
It's not the fact that it's near ground zero that people want the building to not be built, btw. People protest Mosque's all over the country, from New Jersey to California. It's just a load of ignorance toward a religion. Something that is against the constitution.

When a religion is shooting up your ### and bombing you every chance they have it's easier to not like them a bit.

You guys chose a helluva time to argue....
Lemme try to straighten this out:
Bad Muslim - Terrorist, extremist
Good Muslim - Pays taxes, not a terrorist, not extremist, preferably conservative.
Now that that was covered, let's all remember that fateful day with a song...

Your quite wrong Custom. It's not a RELIGION that's bombing us, it's just extremist terrorists, who happen to be Muslim.Custom 333 wrote:When a religion is shooting up your ### and bombing you every chance they have it's easier to not like them a bit.

It IS the fact that it's near Ground Zero. If you'd pay attention to the reasons behind peoples' actions in this issue... let me explain.
People don't want any kind of Muslim place near Ground Zero. That's what started the controversy. What added to the controversy was that:
the imam behind it is an extremist with connections to Al Quaida (to hell with the spelling)
people on the left, yes, your side Hazard, were supportive of this claiming that it would "build a bridge" (to hell with figurative bridges)
Old man Jones reared his ugly head.
If it's a rabat, it means that the extremist Muslim community recognizes this land as conquered territory, that their attacks on 9/11 were successful, and that this extra attention and special treatment that Muslims are receiving for fear of a "backlash" against them is all part of their god forsaken plan...
It's not ignorance toward religion. The only reason people are opposed to any kind of Muslim building being build near there is this, and read carefully:
Hypothetical situation (this is outside of reality, folks): A Catholic reads the Bible and finds that several parts of the Bible espouse violence against non-believers. In fact he finds that the words of Jesus support violence against non-believers, and promises redemption should you die in such an act! So he goes out and commits some ungodly atrocity that leaves a big mark, let's say he drives a truck with a fuel tank into the base of a skyscraper. He dies, the skyscraper comes down, HUGE disaster, maybe other buildings are damaged, you get the idea. But all along, the Bible espoused this act. And of course he had help from the big Catholic terrorist organization that's always out to get you.
Now it's 9 years after this hypothetical act. Is a Catholic Church (cultural center, whatever) to be built even in that same CITY, driven by someone who has connections to the aforementioned terror group? Answer me that.
End of hypothetical situation, and return to reality: The point is, if you want to build a bridge to Islam, let's have this Imam come out and say he rejects the actions of the Muslims on 9/11, and have him say this cultural center will work to help the Muslims that benefit from it to not follow the path of the 9/11 hijackers. But he hasn't said this! In fact he's said that WE, America, is at fault for causing 9/11! Outrageous! And it's WE who have the problem with religion? No-o-o.

Why are there no significant Christian terrorists? Why are there no Jewish terrorists? Why are there no significant atheist terrorists? (well, the big dictatorships of the day were atheists, but that's aside the point)
Because none of these religions espouse violence against the proverbial non believer.
It IS a religion that's bombing us. It just so happens that a minority (thank goodness) of the religion are the ones actually following it to the letter. The terrorists, though you'd like to see it otherwise, are the only ones actually following Islam as it was meant to be followed, which is following the exact wording of the Koran.

And I agree with 80-0 on almost all that, it would almost be giving them a victory, which'd be stupid.

Look, I joined this forum because Hazard promised me he'd make a politics thread, so I've kinda been waiting for that. So go ahead.
By the way, how did you know that I contradicted myself if it was too long, and you decided not to read it?

If it's the fact that it's near ground zero, then why do Americans protest Mosque's in EVERY other place in America?
And, who said he's connected to Al Quiada?

Re: General discussion thread
Off topic here, I made a new ghillie and left him on a set up over night but it seems as if the moss on the ghillie attracted water across the rocks and on to it so it's really wet and the glue turned into a liquid and the moss looks like a monster The gun is totaled too.
That's perfectly on topic, this is general discussion. -C3
